Michael Patrick Hamaway is a shareholder and heads the litigation department at Mombach, Boyle & Hardin, P.A. Mr. Hamaway specializes in complex commercial litigation and a variety of civil trial matters involving real estate, partnership and shareholder disputes, construction defect, lien claims and defense of labor and employment disputes.

Mr. Hamaway is a lifetime Fort Lauderdale resident who attended Fort Lauderdale High School, later graduating from Suffield Academy, Ct., one of the nation's elite preparatory institutions. Mr. Hamaway received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, from the University of Florida where he served as the Assistant Athletic Director for the University of Florida Student Government. Mr. Hamaway began his legal career in 1990, as an Assistant Special Investigator for the Alachua County Public Defender's office. He obtained his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, where he was twice awarded for his participation in the school's nationally recognized trial advocacy program. While at Stetson, Mr. Hamaway developed an interest in consumer law, and advanced those interests pursuant to both a clinical internship with Legal Services of Hillsborough County and as a judicial clerk for the 17th Judicial Circuit.

Mr. Hamaway was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1996, and, in May of that year, joined the law firm of Leonard & Morrison as a litigation associate. Mr. Hamaway successfully tried his first case within a year of joining the firm and thereafter assumed full and exclusive responsibilities for all aspects of the firm's assigned litigation. Mr. Hamaway later joined the law firm of Duke, Mullin & Galloway as a senior litigation associate, successfully trying bench and jury trials for both plaintiffs and defendants alike. In May of 2001, Mr. Hamaway joined Mombach, Boyle & Hardin as head of the firm's litigation department.

Mr. Hamaway is a member of the Broward County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division and Commercial Law Section. He was the organizer of the seminar AShow Me The Money - Everything You Wanted to Know About Post Judgment Collections But Were Afraid To Ask.@ He is a member of the United States District Court for Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.

Mr. Hamaway carries the highest Martindale Hubbell "AV" rating has been featured as a "Top Lawyer" in the practice areas of commercial litigation and employment law by the South Florida Legal Guide since 2007. He was recently named to the 2009 Florida Edition of Super Lawyers.
