Judge Eade of the Circuit Court for Broward County found in favor of The Las Olas Tower Company on Thursday, September 29, 2005, ending a protracted two year battle over the purchase and sale of waterfront property located directly behind The Riverside Hotel, in Fort Lauderdale. Ruling in favor of The Las Olas Tower Company on all counts in the lawsuit, the Court found that The Riverside Hotel had improperly terminated the Contract and directed that the property be conveyed to The Las Olas Tower Company. The Court also found Riverside Hotel Company to be liable to The Las Olas Tower Company for damages relating to its breach and directed that the amount be determined at a future hearing.

The Las Olas Tower Company had originally developed plans for the project in 1995, positioning itself as the first luxury condominium slated for the Central Business District. The project was originally delayed in the City approval process, but had been close to resolution at the time the dispute arose with The Riverside Hotel.

"With the Judge's ruling in hand, it is our intention to complete the approval process with the City of Fort Lauderdale and to fulfill our long-standing plans for a project that will certainly be the preeminent luxury waterfront residences in the City" said Phil Long of The Las Olas Tower Company.
